Supply Drive
Elks 1923 is proud to be part of the planning and creation of the Black Tiger Community Center opening Sept 2024. Thanks to the Spotlight and Beacon Grants we are able to donate these funds to this awesome project which will help students and families in Cuyahoga Falls. Committee members went around town to visit our partners (including a stop at 1923) to collect donations. Bravo to Cuyahoga Falls residents who came together and went above and beyond our donation expectations.

Black Tiger Family Center
Elks 1923 is proud to be a founding sponsor and part of the planning committee for the Black Tiger Community Center opening Sept 24, 2024 whose mission is to help students in Cuyahoga Falls and their families. We were awarded and merged the Spotlight and Beacon Grants from Grand Lodge for this project but the more we can raise through our city-wide supply drive to stock the center, the further our grant dollars can go. See our fabulous partners listed on the flyer in the city for public drop off locations. Elks 1923 is getting in on the action too!

Ice Cream Social for Pooches
3 adoptions. Over $600 raised. Countless bags and boxes overflowing with supplies off their wish list. Everyone was so generous. Thank you to the Humane Society of Summit County for coming and for the outstanding work they do every day to help abused, neglected and abandoned animals for all of Summit County. The lodge was over taken by the animals and we loved it!

Warriors Fishing Derby
Now for the other half of the story… We were reeling in something special the other day. That Tuesday evening June 4th Elks Lodge 1923 presented Warriors Journey Home (WJH) with a $1000 check as a sponsor for their first ever Fishing Derby taking place Sunday June 9th. Connecting with nature is a great way to find one’s center and have a little fun. Warriors Journey Home does crucial work to help Veterans. We were awarded the $1000 Freedom Grant when we outlined this project and what it means from WJH. We love ENF Grants as they help us help local non-profits. Lodge 1923 was also awarded a Challenge Coin from WJH as result of our continued partnership with this outstanding non-profit. Our Veterans live in our hearts and minds year round. Thank you WJH for letting us be a part of this amazing work.

1St Place
Shout out to Lodge 1923! As seen in our National Elks Magazine, we did it! We placed 1st in our category for Elks National Foundation Donations! ENF is what supports the grants we use to give back to our community and scholarship programs to help students find pathways to higher education. That is the lifeblood of Elkdom, giving back (and sprinkling in some fun too). And yes, we can confirm a little friendly competition was going on behind the scenes with some Lodges in our district around this. And yes we can confirm there may have been a little friendly smack talk at district meetings, Facebook, etc , but all for a great cause. It's been fun.

Spotlight Grant Donation
We wrapped up our supply drive for Hope and Healing Survivor Resource Center. It ran from Feb 14th through yesterday February 28th. Our lodge raised well over $2k in supplies on our own. Then add a sweetener....we supplemented an additional 2k through our Spotlight Grant. Hope and Healing has over 100 residents currently. They are an all inclusive facility serving Summit and Medina counties. This facility gives their residents a safe, secure environment and a chance at a brand new chapter filled with happiness.

Elks Always Care
We made the Elks National Foundation Facebook (ENF) page! Fran Kitchen CEO of Operation Orphan Wildlife presented at our Lodge in October. It was such a treat as she introduced rescue friends one after the other and gave us tips about how to help wildlife in our area when the occasion arises. We were able to present a check this day and cash for over $2000 in loving memory of Geo Jensen to Operation Orphan Wildlife. For Groundhog day, Elks National Foundation acknowledged our event and using our grant money to fund it on Facebook. This page has over 14k followers. We can be so proud.

We love our Veterans
We held a wonderful Thanks a Brunch to celebrate our beloved Veterans April 2023. We want our Veterans to know they are in our hearts and minds, and not just on the Veterans holidays. They are valued every day. This work was funded by the Freedom Grant Spark from Elks Grand Lodge.
